We are pleased to announce that Rachel Otto is our April employee of the month. Rachel has been a part of our team since September 2010. She is known for being confident, extremely helpful and open to anything. Rachel reaches above and beyond and has a positive effect on her clients and co -workers alike. Here are just a few things her clients have to say:
“Rachel did a great job listening to my ideas and needs, then adding her professional take for a great result. I can’t wait to go back !”
“I have been coming to Rachel for over a year now and she is a fabulous stylist. I feel totally comfortable with her.”
I recently had the opportunity to chat with Rachel about what has led to her success in such a competitive and self -motivated industry. Here’s what she had to say:
RO: I love everything about doing hair. I love creating new colors, shapes and styles- it allows people to express and portray themselves the way they want.
LS: How did you get started in the cosmetology industry?
RO: I went to cosmetology school in Iowa. I had the opportunity during school to work back stage at a few hair shows, and I also spent time mentoring under Master stylists at two different salons. My experience during school taught me there are no limits in this industry, it’s completely what you make of it.
LS: Is there anything specific thing/person that inspires you in your profession?
RO: I think you can pull inspiration from anyone or anything, you just have to view things with an open mind and always soak in your surroundings.
LS: What are your favorite hair products?
RO: Aveda Daily Hair Repair. AMAZING. Who would say no to healthy, shiny hair?
LS: How do you feel doing hair relates to your personal style?
RO: Great hair can be the focal point of any outfit. If I’m going to a dinner, out with friends or to church I can create a style that expresses ME louder than any accessory.
LS: And finally, what is the most rewarding part of your job with Rejuvenation Spa?
RO: Knowing that someone loves what you did with their hair. It’s inspiring to see thier eyes light up and you can just tell they feel better. I love being able to make others love how they look.
